The Damac Lagoons area is designed as a self-sufficient, low-rise community. It offers affordable housing for large and small families away from noisy tourist areas and bustling business centers. It will have everything necessary for active recreation, relaxation, health improvement, education, development and even work, and the social infrastructure will be combined with elements of a luxurious resort.
The architecture of the community will be in the Mediterranean style, and the public spaces are planned to create an atmosphere of tropical islands. Artificial lagoons surrounded by green areas and spacious houses will be arranged throughout the area.
Houses will be thematically grouped into micro-communities. Each group will receive the name of a famous seaside city or region, such as Santorini, Venice, or Malta, its own villa and townhouse design, as well as a set of entertainment and locations corresponding to a particular theme.
Currently, about 6,000 houses in 11 micro-communities are planned to be built. The layouts vary from two-story townhouses to four-level villas, from houses with three bedrooms to residences with seven bedrooms.
As of 2023, eleven phases have been launched in DAMAC Lagoons: Costa Brava, Ibiza, Malta, Marbella, Monte Carlo, Nice, Portofino, Santorini, Venice, Mykonos, and Morocco.

Although Damac Lagoons is located in the depths of mainland Dubai, the developed road network in this area allows for relatively quick access to various urban locations. The eastern part of the community adjoins Hessa Street, which leads straight to the coast and onto Sheikh Zayed Road, making it possible to reach Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina in 25 minutes.
A trip to Dubai International Airport via Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Road will take about half an hour, bypassing city traffic and toll roads. It will take approximately the same amount of time to reach Downtown Dubai or Burj Al Arab. Al Maktoum International Airport and Mall of the Emirates are about 20 minutes away by car.
The district plan includes the construction of its own school, police station, medical facility, and shopping center. A similar scheme has already been implemented in the neighboring Damac Hills community from the same developer, which has several preschool institutions, Jebel Ali School, Saudi German Clinic, Spinneys, and Carrefour supermarkets. Nurseries, schools, medical centers, and supermarkets are also available in nearby communities such as Remraam and Mudon - all within a 10-minute drive.
The central element of the Damac Lagoons entertainment infrastructure will be numerous water features: an artificial waterfall, a water cinema, water slides, children's aqua zones, a wave pool, a floating amphitheatre, a high-speed zip line across the lagoon, and infinity pools overlooking the water. Residents will be able to swim in crystal clear lakes and sunbathe on the sandy beach, go boating, do water climbing, snorkelling, and stand-up paddleboarding.
In various corners of the community, there will also be picnic and yoga areas, children's play and development areas, a maze, an augmented reality park, a tent city, a skate park, a BMX motocross arena, sports fields, outdoor exhibitions and bike paths. The community will have its own club for hosting various events, an open-air music pavilion, and a spa zone, while restaurants and cafes will be located along the lagoon.
Despite being remote from popular tourist locations and business hubs, Damac Lagoons can be considered a successful investment object due to good transportation accessibility, a wide selection of housing for small and large families, and an excellent combination of social and resort infrastructure.
